A missile-defense arcade game for the NES by Damian Yerrick, after Atari's Missile Command. Steer a cursor and launch fireworks from two silos to destroy incoming missiles before they reach the town, and hold out for seven nights from Sunday to Saturday. One player or two cooperating players can defend the town, and a practice mode opens any wave. The game and its source code are free software under the GNU GPL.
How to play Thwaite
Defend the town for seven nights, Sunday through Saturday, by shooting down missiles before they destroy both silos or all ten houses.
- Start
- Skip the legal notice and status screen.
- Up / Down, then Start
- Choose 1 Player, 2 Players (cooperative) or Practice on the title screen.
- D-pad
- Move the aiming cursor. Tap for short moves; hold to move farther.
- B
- Fire from Milo's silo on the left.
- A
- Fire from Staisy's silo on the right.
- Start
- Pause or resume the game.
Lead your shots: a firework takes a moment to arrive, and one explosion can destroy several missiles. Hit balloons and MIRVs early, before they release more missiles.
Use the on-screen gamepad or the matching emulator keys.
