Free homebrew with verified redistribution rights — plays instantly in your browser, nothing to install.

A free, open-source city-building simulation for the Game Boy Color by developer Antonio Niño Díaz. Players zone residential, commercial, and industrial areas, manage a budget, and respond to citizen needs on a scale unusual for the hardware. Its complete source code is published under the GPLv3 license.

How to play µCity

Grow a city by connecting zones, transport and electricity, then provide the services its residents need.

D-pad + A
Choose Random Map or Scenario on the main menu to start a city. Load Game opens cities saved through the game's own Save menu.
Select
Open the build menu.
D-pad + A
Choose a group and item in the build menu, then move the cursor and press A to place it.
B
Leave building mode before opening the pause menu.
Start
Open the game's pause menu, choose Save Game and select a city slot. Use Load Game on the main menu to reopen it.
Hold B
Move freely around the map without the cursor.
A
When not building, identify the tile under the cursor.

A red dot means the simulation is busy. Wait for it to disappear before building or choosing Save Game; saving is also unavailable during a disaster.

Use the on-screen gamepad or the matching emulator keys.
